Former pilot concerned about passenger health

A former Qantas pilot claims passengers are getting seriously sick after breathing in contaminated air on board planes.

Susan Michaelis believes she became ill because of exposure to toxic fumes.

She says it's one of the biggest issues the aviation industry's faced in a long time.

But the British Airline Pilots Association says most UK pilots don't see fume leaks as a common problem.

The UK's Department for Transport has commissioned a study into the issue, which is due to be published shortly.
