Kansas State University Salina is now offering a master's degree.
The Kansas Board of Regents approved the professional master of technology degree Thursday.
"As one of the first professional master of technology degrees in the state of Kansas, this program provides special educational opportunities for college graduates and industry personnel from a variety of backgrounds," said Dennis Kuhlman, dean of K-State Salina. "K-State Salina's professional master of technology degree enables professionals from diverse technology fields to thrive in rapidly changing work environments."
The degree program provides advanced skills and knowledge in the areas of communication, leadership, project management and teamwork. It also provides opportunities for students to arrange programs with concentrated study in the broad areas of aviation, engineering technology and technology management. Graduate faculty will work cooperatively with each graduate student to develop highly individualized plans of study.
To be considered for admission, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in an area of engineering technology, aeronautical technology, technology management or a closely related field. Applicants also are required to have 3.0 grade point average or higher, on a 4.0 scale, in the last 60 credit hours of formal course work. A minimum of three months industry experience is preferred, but can be waived for students planning to complete an internship requirement.
